Valentino celebrated the opening of its first monobrand boutique in Beijing. The boutique is located in the Peninsula Palace Hotel mall alongside a string of other international fashion names. This first step into the Chinese capital will be followed by the opening of a flagship store in the new Pahlife shopping centre later in May this year. It will offer Valentino’s men’s and women’s collections as well as a wide range of accessories including bags, shoes, watches and sunglasses.
"The world of fashion has now been ruined," the 75-year old, who became a byword for glamor, told Il Messaggero newspaper few days ago. "I got rather bored of continuing in a world which doesn't say anything to me. There is little creativity and too much business. The young are all doing the same things." These are some of the words of the designer leaving the fashion world. Designer and founder Valentino Garavani retired this month with his final haute couture show set for January 24 in Paris, France.
