Avgust, the operator of the Russian clothing chain Oggi, has commenced the rebranding of all its OGGI stores as oodji. This move is motivated by the company's recent decision to expand into Europe, where the Oggi trademark is already in use. The cost of rebranding has been estimated at approximately $20m.
In August this year the company will open its first stores in the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Hungary and Poland
. By the end of 2010, the company plans to have opened 20 stores in these countries, the cost of which is estimated to be around $4m.
There are currently over 300 Oggi stores in Russia, Ukraine and Kazakhstan.
